Introduction

From the desk of Larry Miller (about us)

I started taking pictures as a ten year old and developed the film in the basement of my parents' country store. I took photography courses while in school. I actually photographed my first wedding (a cousin's) when I was about 15. After college at U of MD and a tour in the Navy, I detoured in another direction, working for a large book publisher for many years. When the opportunity arose, I left to start a new career in my favorite profession - photography.

Sue, my wife and partner, taught decorative painting in Houston, Texas and Westminster and has experience working in a frame shop. We have blended our talents and interests, technical and artistic, into a very fulfilling wedding and portrait photography business.

We would love to photograph your wedding!! The day is yours (it is not our photo shoot) and we are there to record the event, not to run it.

Weddings are a very personal event. Your wedding photographers will spend more time with you on your wedding day than anyone other than your new spouse. We want to get to know you and want you to know us before your wedding day so that we all gain a comfort level long before we arrive at your location. Our motto "Your special day your special way" is true. We listen. We respect your wishes and therefore, in effect, you direct our work. We ask to come to your rehearsal (not the dinner!!) to become familiar with your ceremony and to meet your family and wedding party. That gives us the advantage of arriving at your wedding site knowing what will happen during your ceremony, where we should be and what equipment we should use. If we are unfamiliar with your reception site, we will also visit that beforehand.

We always ask you, the bride and groom-to-be, what is special about your wedding. We want to make sure we photograph those things that are important to you. Some of the loveliest location images have come from the bride and groom's ideas. Again, we listen to you.

We are working for YOU on your wedding day and we don't arrive at your wedding with a schedule of things you must do. A wedding by its very nature is a stressful event. Our goal is to reduce stress, rather than to add more. We've been in business long enough to know that there may be some glitches but they always work out. An important part of the day is for you two to make wonderful memories to cherish. Relax and have fun!

We shoot no more than 30 weddings a year, usually only one a weekend and NEVER more than one a day. This allows us the opportunity to give you the time and attention you deserve. We dedicate the day to you. And on that day we are flexible to any changes that may occur, whether out of necessity or by choice. We'll arrive as early as you want us to, and we will stay until your get-away.

Sue and I work as a team to photograph your day, each catching special moments and different perspectives. For most of the day I work with a medium format camera (large negatives = beautiful wall size prints) while Sue shoots a photojournalistic style with a 35 mm. camera. We have no limit on the number of photos we take at your wedding; if something is happening, we capture it. We take many shots of important moments so that blinks and unflattering expressions are removed in the editing process. All the previews you see (usually 250-300 or more) are album quality.

After your wedding, we spend as much time as needed to help you create the album of your dreams. We offer a variety of albums manufactured by the Capri Album Co. (www.caprialbum.com) from the very traditional mounted photographic style to the contemporary Modern Image Book all digital album. Parents' albums, portraits and photo favors round out our product line.

Two of the nicest added benefits of our business are referrals from happy clients and making friends that we want to keep in touch with once our business is complete.
